Phil. 3:7-21. Have you ever thought, "What is God training me for?" I'm almost 75 years old, Lord. If I'm going to bear much good fruit in my old age, you better hurry. Do you see how limited is our thinking? In His eyes, at 75, I've only just begun. God is not controlled by our age, time, the way we think. When I went to school (I'm still in school, and have many teachers) I had to take many classes I didn't like. How would I ever use this information? But with Father God, nothing is lost. Even the hairs on our head are numbered. He sees every sparrow that falls. One hit my window yesterday and died. He knew. Nothing is lost to Him. We are poor judges of what He can use to make us into His image.
Paul was a man of great faith even before Christ came into his life. But that faith and self-righteousness He said was rubbish, compared to knowing Christ and being found in Him. Did Father God use the rubbish? You bet! His rubbish helps us to know that God can use it all to testify in our love for Father God. Move on, press toward the goal to win the prize for which Father God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Oh, how He loves us! The best is yet to come! A work in progress at 74, and counting.
